For determining the strength of my warriors, I have always used koth.bat as supplied with the Wilkies benchmark. However, on upgrading my machine to Win95, this removed QBasic from my hard disk, so the batch file no longer worked. (I did rescue a copy of QBasic from my old setup, and I know it's on the Win95 CD, but...). Also, I had been having problems with the amount of environment space used by the batch file, and would have liked something which worked under Unix, etc...
In 1998, I finally got around to recoding the whole thing in C, and the result is on this page; a small bug fix (thanks to Stefan Foerster) was applied in June 2001 to give version 0.02, and 0.03 was produced in February 2002 to fix a bug with warriors that began with a digit (thanks to Lukasz Grabun for reporting this).
